Make a Book Float

Books can float, it just takes some time to make a book-boat!

Edit Steps

  1. 1
Get a book that has no meaning to you.

  2. 2
]]Open the book and cut out the middle of the book's pages.

  3. 3
Replace the empty area that has been cut out with cardboard or foam.

  4. 4
Close the book, and clamp the pages down with a portable clamp, or hand clamp, or potato chip clip.

  5. 5
Submerge half the book in melted wax or glue for 15 seconds or more.

  6. 6
Remove the clamp, and set the dry half of the book down on a dry surface, and let dry.

  7. 7
Put the clamps back on, and submerge the other half of the book, and let dry.

  8. 8
Try the boat out on water, if it does not float, too much glue has been applied.

Edit Tips

  • White glue works quite well.

Edit Warnings

  • The book you use could be valuable.
