Introducing the Get Productive Course!

Get Productive ChallengeI am excited about launching a new series for the month of February. Now that I have been blogging on this site for 2+ years, there is a lot of content that is spread out all over the place.

I want to organize some of the best productivity principles that I have learned over the past few years into a logical step by step process. Whether you are just beginning down the road to productivity or you have been at it for a little while, my hope is that you will join this challenge, learn something new, and double your productivity by the end of our time together.

I love to read. I am a true learner at heart. Over the years I have read just about every time management and business productivity book out there. My goal in this course is to pull out some of the best ideas from the best minds and combine them into a simple system. Sure, this is a huge task, but it is one that I know I will enjoy.

Sharing the Big Ideas from These Books

Work the SystemWork the System: The Simple Mechanics of Making More and Working Less THIRD EDITION This is a great book to help you think through the “systems” or habits in life and business and how to better automate whatever it is that you do.

Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free ProductivityGetting Things Done – A classic time management book that has remained popular over the years. Still a classic place to start.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People7 Habits of Highly Successful People – One of the few books that I have read over and over again. I pick up this book at least once a year and either learn something new or remember things I have forgotten.

18 Minutes: Find Your Focus, Master Distraction, and Get the Right Things Done18 Minutes: Find Your Focus, Master Distraction, and Get the Right Things Done – One of my new favorites. In my opinion, this gave me the exact daily plan that I was hoping to get from Getting Things Done and 7 Habits.

Do the WorkDo the Work – This book challenged me more than anything to “just get started.” Perfectionism is a sin that will hold you back and keep you living in fear.

The Power of Less: The Fine Art of Limiting Yourself to the Essential...in Business and in Life The Power of Less – A book that helped me to “take a deep breath” and to see the value in simplifying and slowing down.

My wife often jokes about getting “The Jon Notes.” She likes for me to summarize books for her that she has an interest in. While I don’t pretend to have everything figured out myself, I will do my best to give you “The Jon Notes” and share with you what has been working for me.

Feel Free to Make it Your Own

While I will be sharing very specific systems with you, my hope is that you will understand the principle behind it. If you do not know how to make it your own, then just trust in the process that I will lay out for you. It has worked for me and I know it can work for you.

The Get Productive Course Outline

I have divided this online course into 4 sections. We will more than likely focus on one module a week. Here is how the course will flow:

Module 1: Get Organized - Get some quick wins under your belt

Module 2: Get the Mindset - Learn the underlying, timeless productivity principles

Module 3: Get the Systems - A very specific system you can implement

Module 4: Get It Done! - Exact steps on structuring your day to get it done!

I hope you will join me for this series. The easiest way to follow along is to sign up by email and get the daily lessons delivered to you or by subscribing to the RSS Feed.

Let’s Get Productive!

Jonathan

Jonathan has been blogging online since early 2009. He is still in awe that the Creator of the Universe wants to have a personal relationship with him. He enjoys reading any books about self-improvement and productivity. His favorite time of the year is when he sets aside time to review his life plan.

This is a really great idea and I look forward to discovering every lesson ! I wish someone had done something like this earlier, but everything I found seemed incomplete. From an author as good as you though, I’m not afraid of being disappointed, I know that will be great ! =)
