Edited by FuzWuz44, Spyagent, Jordan, Carolyn Barratt and 10 others
If you want to impress another person, such as your boss or a friend, you need to give them your best impression. This will create your personality and the kind of person you are around others.
Edit Steps
- 1Plan on what you are doing. Are you having a BBQ? Watching a movie? You will give the impression that you care, if you start with a plan. Try not to be too strict with what you planned.
- 2Make a shopping list for what you'll need. You will want to be prepared. You need food, cooking tools, etc.
- 3Make sure everything is ready. Remember the time they are coming.
- 4Get dressed in clean, nice clothes. Be well groomed, and make sure you smell nice!
- 5Make sure you are prepared so you don't look confused and still putting things together when your guests arrive.
- 6Organize your area. Take the time to clean and straighten everything out.
- 7Be sure that you have the proper hygiene.
- 8Greet them with a formal saying, for example, "Welcome _______________, it is a pleasure to see you this evening".
- 9Smile, even when something goes wrong. A smile will show your confidence and that is always great for making good impressions.
- 10Be positive and relax. Sometimes it is hard to control yourself when you're too nervous. Think happy thoughts and blow away those negative thoughts of your mind.
- 11If you are too nervous. You can rehearse some phrases you feel safe with. Before anything happens, you can imagine yourself during the reunion and think (in a positive way) what or how will everything take place.
- 12Your body language is also important. Keep yourself open. Remember to stand up straight, have a smile on your face, try not to cross your arms or legs. Non-verbal language has 70% of influence in communication. It is even more important than what you say in words!
- 13End the evening, when everything has come to an end, you can say goodbye with a great closer like "Thank you so much for coming_______. Come again!"
