Some people love to fantasize about TV shows and pretend they live in TV land. Here's a guide to help you live your life like a television show or sitcom!
Edit Steps
- 1Make jokes constantly. Always come up with new jokes, even if they are second-rate. It is very important not to laugh at anything unless that's the point.
- 2Have a non-realistic personality. Act kind of childish sometimes, yell a lot, and never be serious unless it's something very serious. Become very emotional when you talk, and in the middle of a disappointing moment, make a spontaneous joke or don't care.
- 3Do everything on only 3 sides of the room. On the set of most sitcoms, each room usually has only three sides due to camera equipment and crew that must watch from the fourth side. Try to have your couch, chairs, table, or anything on only two to three sides of the room, and only be in those three sides of the room all the time. Also, when you are having a conversation or something, try to face that one empty side of the room (as to face the camera) instead of facing the other person, but still look at them.
- 4Have a family. Most sitcoms feature a family or a group of persons who all live together. For example, a Dad, 2-4 children, grandparent that moved in to help raise the kids after Mom died, and Dad's friend who lost their house. Most sitcoms usually have some kind of twist like this as to who lives in the house. If you don't have a family, get some friends to move in with you, live in an apartment with 2-3 roommates, or visit neighbors or friends frequently, such as every day or every other day.
Edit Tips
- A sitcom could also feature a bunch of teenage guys or teenage girls who all live together in a college dorm, apartment, or in middle or high school.
- Have a two-story house with only a living room and kitchen on the first floor. This is the architectural design of many TV homes. You could also have an apartment, as many television sitcoms also take place in apartments.
Edit Warnings
- Don't make your friends or family think you're crazy by acting too non-realistic all the time! They might think you're acting very strange or trying to hide something.
