Help:Reference section

The reference section should provide evidence for the information given on the page. Without this evidence information becomes useless.

Please give multiple references as a bulleted list, and if it is available give the original publication always first. A useful template we use in the section is the {{aut|Carolus Linnaeus}} template. This will print authors names in different font from the rest of the text (Carolus Linnaeus). Names of journals should be italicized.

Which will display as:

A reference is a good reference when:

• It is the original description of the sanctioning author, and it contains a Latin description (sometimes only a few words).
• The reference uses Latin binomial nomenclature, and gives years, and authors names.
• The reference gives sources of their own.

If above points are lacking in your sources, the reference must be marked as doubtful.
