Learn to forget.

Edit Steps

  1. 1
We all make mistakes. Confront your family about that. Explain to them that they make mistakes too, and then point out some of their minor mistakes. Such as mother always burning the turkey, and brother always breaking things.

  2. 2
When someone brings up your mistake change the subject. It doesn't matter what you change it to, as long as it isn't the mistake. Maybe some small talk.

  3. 3
Learn to laugh at yourself! Humor is key in a happy life, and if you can't laugh at yourself sometimes, you'll never be really happy.

  4. 4
Try not to hold it against yourself or anyone, even if it is your fault. The sooner you stop talking and thinking about the problem, the better chance you will find a resolution to it.

  5. 5
Try to stay strong in front of your family. Try not to cry, shake, or show any signs of sadness or nervousness. If you are not confident to confront the whole family at once, see them individually, tell them all the same because they will talk about it without you around and the story better be the same!

  6. 6
Explain you have learned a lesson from what you had done wrong, and that all mistakes are a lesson of how to not do it next time! This includes apologizing to your parents!
