The University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) has partnered with Maryland Public Television (MPT) for a special series called "Your Health," featuring UMMS specialists who will share their medical expertise with viewers all across the state of Maryland!

UMMS guests will appear every other week in a special "Your Health" segment on MPT's program "Direction Connection," airing live Monday nights at 7:30 p.m.

The show takes calls from viewers, so you have the opportunity to speak directly to our experts and get your questions answered.

Mammography/ Breast Density

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Starting October 1, a new law in Maryland will require doctors to notify certain women following their mammograms about their breast density. But what does that mean and what should women do with that information?

In this interview, University of Maryland breast imaging specialist Dr. Cristina Campassi will talk about screening for breast cancer, including recommendations for mammography and the new breast density notifications.
