1Seriously think about whether you want to have a baby. The majority of people would say fourteen is far too young to even contemplate having a family - a fourteen-year-old should not even be having sex, which already shows irresponsibility on your part - not the best quality for a new parent. If you want to have a life of your own, and not spend your existence living for your baby, seriously consider adoption or a termination.Ad

2Ask your parents for help with a savings account so you don't have to worry about your child never getting an education.
-
3Have a baby shower so your financial burden will be lessened.
-
4Think about your future career options. Studying at university with a young child will be incredibly difficult, and may even be a financial impossibility. In this case, are you willing to give up any dreams you may have to live on the breadline with your child, possibly without any help from your offspring's father?
-
5If you don't believe you can handle being a fourteen year old mom, then adoption is always a choice. You can contact an adoption agency to help you.
-
6If you and the father of the baby are still together ask him for help with taking care of the baby. If not, then you and the father should make an agreement on how he will help with situations, and what you can do as well.
-
7Ask around and see if someone can babysit your child while you are at school during the day. Try to find someone who will babysit your child for little or no cost. Asking a non-working relative may be a viable option.
-
8Take therapy to talk about what you are having problems coping with and ask your therapist on what you can do to help make coping with that problem easier.
-
9Support your baby. It might be hard, but you need to find ways on how to make your baby survive. Of course, a job is not a possibility at 14. You are not legally employable, and in almost every country you are legally a child. You are entirely financially dependent on your parents, and at the end of the day, if they choose not to support your baby, they are perfectly within their rights to insist that you give the baby away or terminate it. There is plenty of time to have children when you are older, and you should listen to, accept and respect their final say.Ad
