How to Use eHow for wikiHow Articles

It may seem like no big thing to take an article from eHow and bring it on over to wikiHow (they are the same type of site, right?!), but it is. There is such a thing as copyright infringement and it is against the law. But there are ways that you can use eHow as a source and it isn't illegal.

1Browse eHow for ideas. eHow has been around since 1999[1] and they have a lot of articles. Granted, a lot of them are duplicates, but it can be a great source for articles!Ad -
2Don't cut and paste. Copying the article, which is called plagiarism, is illegal and unethical and may get you into trouble by eHow if they find out. -
3Go over the article steps on eHow and come up with ways to rephrase what has been written. Don't just change a word or two; restate the whole sentence into your own words if possible. -
4Use Creative Commons for images from the article. You don't want to use the articles they used, because you don't know what the source or license is, on the image. -

- Do not use eHow articles for references, if at all possible. Instead, seek the original source of information instead, such as a reliable government site, health authority, expert-on-the-topic site, or the like.
