Writing the EmailAdding EmoticonsSending the Email

Edited by Laura, Emily22, Teresa, Jeff and 3 others

Mozilla Thunderbird is an email service that mimics the standard Windows Mail. Thunderbird is very customizable, allowing you to decorate your email with emoticons, or animated emoticons, to suit any occasion. Adding emoticons is simple to do and it's a nice way to get your real meaning across to the recipient. In this tutorial, you'll discover how to insert emoticons appropriate for a birthday occasion (it's assumed that the emoticons are already saved on your computer in the 'Pictures' folder).

EditTips

  • The icons used in the article are animated, but not when inserted. You will see the animation if you click your mail in "Send" folder, and, of course, your recipient will too.
  • When you have a lot of friends and relatives to whom you send email regularly, it's a good idea to make a library of the emoticons in your "Pictures" folder. That way they will be handy when you need them.
  • If you already inserted an icon and then  changed your mind, simply click right mouse button on it, and click "Cut".
  • The "Appearance" tab in the window allows you to manipulate the image.
