Teachers sometimes ask for an interview by a professional on a project topic. Sometimes it does not work out. It might be too close to the deadline to call someone, no one you have contacted responded, or any other scenario that prevents you from getting a legitimate interview. No one wants to fail, so this is how to fake an interview.

  1. Fake an Interview for a School Project Step 1.jpg
    1
Know Your Topic: You have probably been required to ask someone about a specific topic. You obviously cannot fake an interview about your topic if you do not know anything about it. To know all you need to know about anything, all you need is the internet. Google your topic, use Wikipedia, look at articles posted by real professionals about it, etc . . . Once you are an expert yourself, you can make a fake interview.

Find a Professional: Look for professionals just like you would if you were really trying to get an interview. Find a real person who would know about your topic and look for as much information as possible. Someone who has his/her place of work listed or is part of some organization is great, because your teacher might ask you for letterhead. If your professional is someone that your teacher might know (such as a dentist or hair stylist), then try to pick a professional who lives far away from your teacher, but close enough to make it believable you found this person locally or met with him/her in person. Try searching your teacher's name in a phone book website to find where your teacher lives.

Create a Fake Letterhead: If your teacher asks for letterhead, then your person needs to have it online somewhere. If he/she is part of an organization of professionals that has a website, then it should have a logo or some image with their organization on it. This also works for your professional's workplace website. Just look for an image (usually with words, too) that can be related to your person. If you find letterhead with a white back round, that is even better. When you print it, it would look more convincing (assuming you use white paper).

Fake The Interview: If you have a picture of your person, look at it and imagine what this person would sound like. How this person sounds in typing should not sound like you.
    1. Make sure all the answers to your questions are correct, but do not make them all very precise. It is most likely that you know more about your specific topic than the professional, because you are doing research that he/she did a long time ago.
    2. Make some answers good estimations of the facts instead of the exact facts, but choose those logically. If you are talking to a dentist supposedly and want to know what causes plaque, then that has to be exact. If you want to know how long it takes for symptoms to start, that would be an estimate. Your questions can have perfect English, because you planned them ahead of time. If your story is that you called, video called, or personally met with your person, then his/her English should not be perfect.
    3. Correct obvious mistakes, but leave sentence fragments that are typically used in conversation in and keep a few of the "wells, ums, uhs, and hmms." Although, do not over-do it. You can add some fancy words or terms, but do not over-do that, either, unless your topic cannot be explained without all the right terms.
    4. Consider how likely it is for your professional to have encountered your topic. That would determine whether you include a personal experience with it or purely academic knowledge of it in the answers.

Fake a Signature: Your teacher probably asked you for this. Do not do it yourself unless you absolutely have to. Even if you are really good at forging signatures, get one as different from your own as possible. Consider what you imagine this person's signature to look like and ask a close friend to mimic it. Make sure this friend would not tell anyone about this. This is illegal. Ask your friend to make a sample signature or a few sample signatures until you find one that is perfect. Have your friend sign the name directly above the printed name of your professional on your letterhead page.

Turn It In: Act normal and your teacher would probably never know.
