A prospective employer has taken the time to meet with you personally and get to know your work history and skill-set. Whether you nailed the interview, bombed it, or have decided you don't want to continue moving forward, it is important to send a note of thanks expressing your gratitude.

EditSteps

  1. 1
Make a list of each interviewer's name and title. If you do not have a list of names and titles of the interviewers, request that immediately from the human resources manager that has been facilitating your interviews.

  2. 2
Make each thank you note personable. Do not cookie-cutter your thank you cards where the only difference is the name of the addressee.
  3. 3
Write down a unique attribute about yourself you may have mentioned in the interview. Re-iterate that in the thank you card.
  4. 4
Always thank the interviewer at least once in the card. They took the time out of their busy day to meet you.
  5. 5
Send out the thank you cards no more than 2 days following your interview. Anything later than this could relay laziness, so it is important to show promptness.
