How to Convert an HTML Website to WordPress with CMS2CMS Plugin

In case you want to migrate your old static HTML website to modern WordPress one, there is a WP plugin, which will help you with it. You will convert all the data from one site to another in a matter of a few minutes.

Steps

Download the plugin. Go to WP plugin directory to download “CMS2CMS: HTML to WordPress Convertor”.

Activate the plugin. Upload it to your directory and press button “activate”

Configure the migration. Specify the URL of your HTML website. Then, press “Continue” button and you’ll be redirected to CMS2CMS site in order to complete your migration.

Type in the URL of your HTML website.

Select the theme for you WordPress site. There are currently 6 themes available for you.

Connect your Sites via bridge. Download Bridge file (zip) and extract it to your computer. Connect to your static HTML website via FTP. Upload extracted 'cms2cms' folder to HTML root directory which is the top folder with index.php file.

Select Migration preferences. You can choose from: “migrate image files” - to have images moved, “make URLs SEO friendly” - to have internal links formed according to the rewrite rules on WordPress website, “clear target website data” - delete all content from WordPress website.

Start Demo Migration. It is recommended to go through demo version to test service on your websites.

Start Full Migration. Press the button and enjoy the results afterwards.

Tips

Make sure you have FTP details of the both sites before the migration.
Notify your users about the migration so they will be ready for changes like other URL or different design.
Conduct your migration on that time, when the visiting rate is minimal.
Install SEO plugins for WordPress to have a higher ranking and more visitors from your HTML website
