How to Perform Zen Cart to Prestashop Migration Using Cart2cart
Edited by Martin Wann, Chris, Maluniu, Retrofuturist
Many e-merchants make a decision to change their shopping cart. They find a number of reasons and benefits to perform the migration. If you are Zen Cart store owner and you are not satisfied with your shop functionality, you should carefully think which way of migration to choose in order move all information accurately. If your store is a large one, manual migration will not be suitable, as it will take much time. You can hire a specialist, who will do it for you, but it can become expensive. Look through the instructions, which illustrate an alternative way of migration from Zen Cart to PrestaShop [1].
Edit Steps
-
1Sign in. To start your migration processes create new Car2Cart account [2] or log in via Google or Facebook account.Ad
-
2Provide information about your Souce Cart.
- Choose an existing version of Zen Cart from the list.
- Enter the store's URL.
- Download and install the Connection Bridge. To perform installation process you need to extract loaded files and copy them to the root directory with FTP.
-
3Set up your Target Cart.
- Like on the previous step, choose PrestaShop version.
- Insert the store’s URL.
- Provide a connection between both carts with installing Connection Bridge files. [3]
-
4Select entities. There is a possibility to transfer different kind of data. Just put a tick near each entity you want to transfer. Despite them, service provides additional options for migration:
- clear current data on Target Store before Migration;
- preserve order IDs on Target Store;
- preserve product IDs on Target Store;
- skip product thumbnail images migration;
- strip HTML from category and product names, descriptions;
- transfer images in product descriptions to your Target Store.
-
5Run the free demo migration. There are two possible variants: to perform this step or just to skip it. However, it is highly recommended for you to try how everything works. You can move a limited number of entities to a PrestaShop store. All you have to do is to wait 10-30 minutes and check the results of that migration.
-
6Start the full migration. When you are ready for this step, check entities one more time and press the Full Migration button. Email notifications will inform you, when the process is finished, and you can administer you new PrestaShop store.Ad
