How to Chop Garlic

Not only is garlic a tasty additive to any dish, but it also has a reputation for its medicinal benefits. No matter how you use it, garlic needs a little preparation. Here's an easy way to chop a clove of garlic.

1Select a bulb of garlic. A bulb contains a cluster of smaller sections called cloves.Ad

2Pull a single clove from the bulb.

3Place the clove on a cutting board.

4Lay the blade of a knife flat (and secure) on top of the clove.

5Using the palm of your hand, thump the blade with enough strength to crack the skin.

6Peel the skin from the clove with your hands.

7Placing the clove back on the cutting board, position the knife to cut the garlic horizontally.

8Turn the clove in position to cut in a vertical position.Ad
