EditSteps

  1. 1
Hang around the person who invited you to the party. Ask her to introduce you to new people, don't feel embarrassed. She was probably expecting a couple minor things like this to happen.

  2. 2
Look around to see if there's anyone else who seems to be lonely. If there is, go and strike a conversation. Some good ones are, "Isn't this an awesome song!" Or, "His/Her outfit is awesome!"
  3. 3
If there's a group that's just talking, go up to them and try to start a conversation.

EditTips

  • Don't be annoying-if someone doesn't want to hang out with you at a party, there's bound to be a couple of nice people who will.
  • If worse comes to worse, leave. If you feel embarrassed about leaving, make don't make an excuse. Just say that you had some plans with some other people, and leave. But be warned, excuses could bite you back.

EditWarnings

  • If there are drinks at the party, don't. Drink any to gain confidence and meet new people. Things may get crazy, and you may mess up... badly.
