How to Make Cute Tea Party Invitations

You can create your own special tea party invitations that actually have a teabag tucked into them as part of the design! This will delight your guests and inspire you to come up with more tea-related items for the party.

1Determine how many cards need to be made. Gather the needed supplies listed below and be sure you have a enough of everything.Ad -
2Make the envelopes.- Trace an envelope shape on the cream craft paper.
- Trace an envelope shape on the floral craft paper
- Cut each out and glue them to each other.
- Assemble the envelope so that the floral paper is placed on the inside, and secure the seams with a glue stick. Set it aside to dry. Repeat this step until desired amount of envelopes is completed.

3Create the basic cards.- Trace the unopened greeting card onto the cream card stock.
- Cut it out using paper cutter or scissors. Repeat this step until the desired amount of blank cards is completed.

4Cut the round paper doily in half. Glue it to the bottom half of the front of the card so that the arch is pointing upward. Repeat for all cards. -
5Print or transfer a tea-themed image to the pastel multipurpose paper. Cut the image to 3 in. x 5 in. (7.5cm x 12.5cm). -
6Glue the tea image to the center of the front of the card in a pocket-like format (gluing down only three sides and leaving a slit open at the top). -
7Slide the teabag into the tea image pocket. Repeat this step until the desired amount of cards is completed. -
8Using the pastel multipurpose paper, cut a blank piece 3 in. x 5 in. Attach this paper piece to the center of the back of the card. Repeat this step until the desired amount is completed. -
9Set the cards aside to dry. -
10On the back of each card, use the black ultra-fine point sharpie marker to write the following:- Line one: "Join us for a spot of tea" (or something similar).
- Line two: date.
- Line three: time.
- Lines four and five: location.
- Line five: name(s) of host(s).
- Line six: RSVP information.

11Embellish the card and envelope as desired by using a variety of materials, once the cards and envelopes have completely dried. -
12Place each card into their respective envelopes, and seal them with a gold sticker. Address each card using the gold pen and send on their way.Ad

- Any color paper can be used for the cards and the envelopes. What's posted here is merely a suggestion.
- You may also wish to print out the information inside using your home computer, rather than using the black ultra-fine marker.

- Watch out for the marker bleeding through the paper.
- If you choose to use a wet adhesive instead of a glue stick, be careful how much you use, because it will make the paper wavy.

- Cream or beige craft paper: 12 in. x 12 in. You can cut one envelope from this size.
- Pastel multi-purpose paper: 8 in. x 11 in.

- Round paper doilies
- Greeting card (to use as template): 4 in. x 6 ? in. unfolded

- Tea cup or other tea themed clip art of choice 3 in. x 5 in.
- Tea bags (preferably in their wrappers still, unopened)
- Paper cutter
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Glue stick
- Pencil
- Cutting tool ( knife, for example)
- Embellishments (i.e. rubber stamped images, paper punches, borders, glitter, charms, gel pens, die cut images, stickers, etc.)
- Gold pen
- Black super-fine point sharpie marker
- Gold stickers: floral or tea themed
