In the "from" and "to" dates, select the date that the law started, and the date that the law was no longer in effect. If you're entering a law that currently exists, select "present day" as the end date. If the start date is unknown (for example, a very old law), you can select "None" as the start date.
    • Note that you can list the day or month fields as unknown -- this will display the date in a format like "January 1992" or just "1992."
  5. 5
Select a status of the law from the dropdown.
  6. 6
Add any applicable notes, if desired. These might include:
    • Exceptions to a law
    • The bill that put the law into effect
    • Any portion of the law that is unclear
  7. 7
List sources where you found your information. Sources can include books, websites, news articles. If available, it's helpful to include a link to an online version (PDF, etc.) of the law.
  8. 8
Click "add" to submit the law.

Tips

  • If you're unsure about how exactly to input the law, post a discussion topic on the region's page, which is located as a "discussions" link in the sidebar.
