How to Edit Equaldex
Edited by Danlev, Anna
Equaldex is collaborative LGBT rights knowledge base. You can create an account and add to the database.
Steps
-
1Log in or sign up for an Equaldex account.Ad
-
2Visit a country, state, or province page either by clicking it from the front page or by searching.
-
3Find a topic that is missing data (for example, same-sex marriage) and click "Add Entry."
-
4In the "from" and "to" dates, select the date that the law started, and the date that the law was no longer in effect. If you're entering a law that currently exists, select "present day" as the end date. If the start date is unknown (for example, a very old law), you can select "None" as the start date.
- Note that you can list the day or month fields as unknown -- this will display the date in a format like "January 1992" or just "1992."
-
5Select a status of the law from the dropdown.
-
6Add any applicable notes, if desired. These might include:
- Exceptions to a law
- The bill that put the law into effect
- Any portion of the law that is unclear
-
7List sources where you found your information. Sources can include books, websites, news articles. If available, it's helpful to include a link to an online version (PDF, etc.) of the law.
-
8Click "add" to submit the law.Ad
Tips
- If you're unsure about how exactly to input the law, post a discussion topic on the region's page, which is located as a "discussions" link in the sidebar.
