How to Request a Title Change for a wikiHow Article

Sometimes you look at a wikiHow article and think to yourself, "...Wha?!" A title should include the most concise, most commonly searched words to describe the content of an article and, if applicable, it should reflect the distinct or specific technique described in the article, too. And it definitely needs to be spelled and capitalized correctly! You'll be sure to be thanked when you make a title better. In fact, thanks in advance!

Review our Title policy for details.

Search for duplicate articles, because wikiHow is constantly changing.
- Duplicates will eventually be merged or deleted.

Research ideas with the Title Tools found in the Title policy.

Request a title change by applying a template to the top of the Edit page of an article.
- Copy and paste {{title|NEW TITLE}}. In this template, where you see the word "title", put the word title; replace NEW TITLE with a new suggestion, omitting "How to".
- Copy and paste {{Title}} when you cannot think of a suggestion. However make sure to leave a comment on the Discussion page of the article describing what is wrong with the current title.

Post a comment on the Discussion page of your chosen article.
- Support your reasons with concepts found in the Title policy.
- Others will provide feedback.

Allow up to two weeks to reach a consensus.
- Continue to participate in the discussion.
