Travel Clinic
If travel abroad is in your future plans, your best local medical resource is the Travel Clinic at the University of Georgia's Health Center. The clinic offers travel health information and appropriate vaccinations to students, faculty, staff and the general public, ages 2 years and older.
Registered nurses provide consultations offering CDC recommended immunizations, medical precautions, travel safety and tips on accessing emergency medical care. Information is provided on general health risks of travel, risks of contracting diseases related to international travel and methods of prevention including vaccinations.
Consultations include an updated computerized report about health issues to consider while planning your trip, and resources for maintaining your health while abroad.
The clinic also provides vaccinations against common diseases such as MMR (measles/mumps/rubella), influenza and hepatitis B.
Appointments
Full travel consultation appointments require up to 30 minutes, and should be made four to six weeks prior to travel to insure adequate time for immunizations and preparation. Appointments are necessary and can be made by phone: 706-542-5575.
Missed Appointments
If necessary, cancel or reschedule your appointment by 5:00pm on the business day before the scheduled appointment to prevent a $30 charge.
