	15:	The 10th anniversary celebrations for Wikipedia will be in many languages around the world. See if there is one in your area.
	5:	Steward elections will start soon. It would be lovely if you could help translating what it is listed here. Candidate statements will need to be translated later. Thank you!

The annual fundraiser message campaign is beginning earlier this year.

October 2009

Wikimedia Annual Fundraiser begins from November 7 (timeline). New messages are ready to translate, while you can use an amount of past legacy. For real-time collaboration, you can use both our IRC channel and our skype open chat, clicking (this link, you need a skype account).

We've setup a chat on Skype for translating and planning of the 2008 Fundraiser that will take place this fall. The good thing about Skype is that unlike IRC, you get copies of the messages when you were offline. If you have a Skype account, visit this link to join the public chat. If you don't, you can get one by visiting Skype.com.

	9:	The requests from community is now categorized under Category:Translation requests from Wikimedia community. It was formerly named "Translation requests from local projects. Anyone can request for Wikimedia related translations, just add the page needed to translate to this category.
	8:	The preparations for the Fundraising 2007 are started in these days. There is some content needing to be translated: remember to check the page periodically. Translations in progress: web buttons, WikiLove campaign.
	7:	The New Babylon page is up. Now with all the translation-related links and references, and with a new noticeboard. Feel free to improve it.

Translations of the Week

• Translation of the week, here on Meta-Wiki.
• English Wiktionary: Translations of the week. Three words are chosen every week to translate: don't forget to link each translated English word as a possible translation for the associated word entries in the other Wiktionary (and fill in their missing definitions, pronunciations and their derived forms such as plurals).

Wikispelling

Contrarily to what we translators may think ;-) things should not always be translated. That is why Wikispelling was created, in order to avoid misspelling of proper nouns and local names. Wikispelling is a trans-wiki and multilingual project. Please help by checking the translation in your own language of commit messages at Wikispelling. And feel free to participate !

Capitalization on Wiktionary

Languages have different rules regarding capitalization. For example, in English, the month names and most words of work titles are always capitalized, but in French they are not. Most Wiktionary projects differentiate nowadays between capitalized letters and small letters. Wiktionary needs to know what rules each language has regarding capitalization. Please help to complete the table of Capitalization!

WikiProject Translation on English Wikisource

A new initiative to coordinate between various Wikisource language wikis in the gathering of old translations and the creation of new ones for source texts that have never been translated, or have only copyrighted translations, etc.
