Edit Steps
-
1Find out what chores you have to do. Write them all down in your notebook along with how much time you think it will take you to do them.Ad
-
2Add all the individual times up and write down the total. That’s how long you have to finish all of your chores. Pretend that if you don’t get them done, you're going to be grounded for a month!! This method is very effective, and it gets you thinking sometimes that you are playing a computer game.

3If you tend to do a sloppy job when you rush, write down everything you have to do for your individual chores, and if you skip a step, you will get grounded for twice as long!! This way, you end up doing everything your supposed to in record time.Ad
There's away to get out of chores
Play sick but if that don't work play music and dance around while you clean

"Shooting baskets:"
- Place out three or four baskets. [ex: One could be for clothes, one for trash, and one for toys.]
- Take the object that belongs to the basket and throw it inside. If you make it, that's five extra minutes of free time. [parsay, it could be one more friend to your party, etc.]
Every basket missed is a subtraction of that thing. Practice shooting!

- Have some help! From mom, dad, a buddy.
I think it helps to pretend a friend is coming in a few minutes, so you have to pick up everything and put them in the RIGHT place!

Although you don't want a super messy house, do the basics everyday, and the big jobs when you can. (Cleaning the oven, organizing your cabinet) Do it on a rainy day, or when you are angry. Cleaning up helps clear the mind, helps you organize yourself. Be happy that you get to clean, although it sometimes sucks.

Keep a schedule. Like: Every Saturday morning you clean for two hours straight, with a 20 minute break in between. Then you can go out and get a smoothie or whatever reward. Make sure that you don't stray away from the tasks.
Edit Tips
- To really challenge yourself, try doing the your chores in 50% of the time you thought it would take you(For example, if you think it will take you 3 hours to clean your room, do the dishes, vacuum, and fold laundry, Try doing it In an hour and a half)
- If you continue to procrastinate, try self-discipline! I once procrastinated so bad, that I grounded myself for a week, and I would not let myself get online or anything!! It really helps and proves to your parents and yourself that you are can take responsibility for your actions
- Music, especially a playlist of really good songs might help.
- If playing this ‘chore game’ then at first you don’t get done on time, don’t give up! It takes practice to actually beat the game.
