you write in a gardening article "my username is daisyluver254, so i think i know enough about daisies to write this article"

some stranger reads your article, and goes to your messageboard.

he guesses your password and gets into your account

there, he does something to get you banned from the messageboard. _____________________________________________________

another example, say your adress is 2453 maplewood street, west philidelphia.

you write an article on how to win a fight, and say "i live in 2453 maplewood street, in west philidelphia. so i can tell you how to win a fight."

someone reads the article, and sees your adress.

then, they drive over to your house and break in. ________________________________________________________

one more example, say your name is lauren jones.

you write an article and say "hi. im lauren jones and i will help you ___(insert how-to here)_____"

someone sees that article.

they google you, and find more information.

they get your credit card number, and use your credit card to buy things, giving you bad credit. ___________________________________________________

so you see, personal references endanger your status, well being, and financial security.
