A new mobile experience for wikiHow

At wikiHow our mission is to teach everyone how to do anything — from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Over 50% of our traffic comes from mobile and tablet, which means that millions of people use wikiHow away from their computers every day.
In the fall of 2013 we launched a new desktop design, which was largely about bringing the wikiHow brand forward. Since then, our engineering team has worked to create a new mobile experience to bring the best of that desktop design to mobile wikiHow readers. We are proud to launch that new mobile experience today.
A few of the new features for mobile web include:
- Login/Logout functionality
- User Pages, Talk Pages & Notifications
- Editing of wikiHow content (while logged in)
- A beautiful new design with bigger images
Over the coming months, wikiHow will be working on various tools to allow even more mobile readers to contribute in a variety of ways. We want to thank the Wikimedia Foundation for the work that they’ve done over the last several years to innovate and expand mobile editing on wikis — without their work, the new wikiHow mobile experience would not be possible.
