Russians are well known for being glamorous, aware of their appearance, and often extremely good looking. However there isn't really a Russian look since Russia is both a part of Asia and Europe. Therefore their looks will be different depending on where they are from. But there are still some things you can do to look more Russian.

    This is crucial to any look you're aiming for. Always make sure you are keeping your skin clear. For this you'll need a facewash, face toner, and remember to moisturise your skin with a good cream after washing your face. Avoid washing your face with cold water because this will make the pores clog leading to spots. Wash your face morning and night. Not more or less. Always remove your makeup before you go to bed.Keep your hands soft and your nails neat. Use a hand cream before you go to sleep. That way it will sink in during night. Always have clean nails. Russian women are a big fan of red nail polish. It is sexy, fierce and bold. Just make sure to apply it evenly. Feet are important as well. Especially in the summer. Trim your toe nails and paint them in a beautiful colour! Any colour will do. Overall hygiene: Wash your hands every now and then. Use deodorant and shower either in the morning or in the evening. Too much showering will just dry out your skin. After showering apply a body lotion to keep your skin soft and hydrated. Take care of your hair! Wash it once every two days with a good shampoo and conditioner. Also use hair oil. This does miracles to the hair. Whenever you feel like you need it, apply a hair mask. Keep your eyebrows groomed. Consult an expert if you're feeling insecure and then maintain the shape given.

    Overall health : Make sure you're eating healthy and exercise on a daily basis. Now this has quite little to do with looks. It's about how you feel. You will feel sexier if you know what your body can achieve. Because you can do more than you think!  Find an exercise form you enjoy doing, whether it's boxing, swimming, running, dancing or cycling or anything else! Remember to switch up your routine now and then because otherwise your body will get used to it and you should always aim to challenge yourself. And drinking water is crucial both for your skin and overall well being.

    Clothes : Now this is important stuff. Some key words for the typical Russian style are ; leather, fur , jewelry ( preferably gold) and high heels. In other words a very glamorous look. Just remember to dress for your body shape and something you feel sexy and confident in. If you can't walk in high heels then don't!  This is all about adjusting the look so it suits you. And never leave the house without accessories! Big chunky earrings and chains are popular. Rings are very good as well and of course ; a nice bag.

    Makeup : Russians are daring when it comes to makeup. They have no problem to enhance their features, whether it's the eyes, lips or both! You can never go wrong with a smokey eye and red lipstick. It's up to you though if you want to wear both at the same time. Always start with a clean face and then apply foundation and concealer if you've got spots or dark circles. There are many smokey eye makeup tutorials on Youtube. Do you like it undone, colourful or classic?

    The attitude : Russians know they look good, and they take great pride in looking their best no matter the occasion! Be confident, stand tall, shoulders back and walk that walk, girl!

    If you truly want to understand the Russian culture and understanding how to look the part then this is important.  Learn the basics of Russian history, study the Russian language (yes, you will get far by only knowing da and vodka ) but learning new stuff is always fun! Common Russian names are Irina, Anastasia, Olga, Jelena and Jekaterina. Common boy names are Boris, Michail, Pavel, Vladimir and Vladislav. Russians exist in Russia ( obviously) Ukraine, Estonia, Finland and Poland and many other countries. The literature, art and music from Russia is well known. Tchaikwoski ís one great example. Moscow is the capital city of Russia and Sankt Petersburg is the second biggest city.

  • Visit Russia! This isn't crucial but it sure is interesting to travel to new places.
  • Observe Russian people! Watch how they dress, talk and behave. This doesn't mean you should start stalking someone, just observe from a distance. Some inspirations are Irina Shayk, Svetlana Bilyalova and Alena Shishkova.
  • Russians can be blonde, brunettes or have black hair. They can look, Asian, Caucasian or Slavic. There isn't a specific look. Decide what you like and then aim for that.
