How to Add Fonts to Wordpad
Edited by MissMaryam, Mark Davis, RMunsonNJ, Denise and 10 others
Need some new fonts but don't know how to get them into your Word pad? It's not as complicated as you may think...
EditSteps
-
1First you have to find a font you like. If you don't want to pay for it, simply google "free fonts". You'll find tons of stuff to choose from!Ad
-
2Choose YOUR font.
-
3Download your font. (There'll be a "Download"-button at somewhere...) The fonts you download will be "WinRAR-ZIP-Archive"-files.
-
4Once you're done downloading, you have to unpack your font. To do so, simply click on it. Since it is a "WinRAR-ZIP-Archive"-file, WinRar will open automatically to unpack the file. If you don't have WinRar, you'll have a little problem here. (But you can download a 40-day test version of WinRar for free.)
-
5Once WinRar is open, choose your file (by clicking on it), then click "extract to" (on the top left hand side of your window, next to "add").
- If you have downloaded more than one font, click "add" and choose the other fonts you want to unpack.
-
6After you click "extract to," another window will open asking you where you want to extract the files to. It'll probably be quite complicated to find the right folder there, so just choose "desktop".
-
7Your unpacked fonts will be "truetype" (ttf) files.
-
8When done, close WinRar and click on "start", then on "control panel". You should see a folder called "fonts". In Mac, acces your Library, then go to "Fonts" folder.
-
9Put your unpacked fonts (from your desktop) into THAT folder.
-
10When you've done that, you can close that folder and also delete the "WinRAR-ZIP-Archive"-files you downloaded.
-
11You're done! You should now find your new fonts in "WordPad". (If you don't, you maybe have to restart "WordPad", if you opened it BEFORE downloading and unpacking your new fonts.)Ad
EditThings You'll Need
- A computer
- WinRar (a program to unpack files)
- 3 minutes
