How to Tether via Bluetooth in Android
Tethering using Wi-Fi is an important technological advancement. It allows you to share one device's mobile data connection with other devices, which may not have access to a data connection. Tethering is native to Android and just needs turning on. Note: Android 4.4.2 is used in the images below.
Steps
-
1Open the Settings application.Ad
-
2Tap "More". This maybe under a different section/tab depending on the customizations made by your manufacturer.
-
3Select "Tethering & mobile hotspot". In some cases, the option to activate is bluetooth and Wi-Fi hotspots is separate under the "more settings" section. If such is the case, skip ahead.
-
4Tap "Bluetooth tethering".

-
6Finished!Ad
Tips
- Make sure both devices are bluetooth compatible and have their bluetooth radios turned on.
- Since tethering uses your mobile data plan, it's a good idea to check any fees associated with your mobile data usage, to make sure you don't get hit with unexpected charges or penalties for high usage.
