Tethering using Wi-Fi is an important technological advancement. It allows you to share one device's mobile data connection with other devices, which may not have access to a data connection. Tethering is native to Android and just needs turning on. Note: Android 4.4.2 is used in the images below.

    Tap "More". This maybe under a different section/tab depending on the customizations made by your manufacturer.

    Select "Tethering & mobile hotspot". In some cases, the option to activate is bluetooth and Wi-Fi hotspots is separate under the "more settings" section. If such is the case, skip ahead.

    Tap "Bluetooth tethering".

    Connect to your other device using bluetooth.

Tips

  • Make sure both devices are bluetooth compatible and have their bluetooth radios turned on.
  • Since tethering uses your mobile data plan, it's a good idea to check any fees associated with your mobile data usage, to make sure you don't get hit with unexpected charges or penalties for high usage.
