EditSteps
-
1Choose a size. Before reading the Things You'll Need area, decide the size. Small breeds need at least a 7'x8' space. Medium breeds need a 8'x12' area. Large/Giant breeds need a 14'x14'.Ad
-
2Gather the supplies needed.
-
3Gather the wood frame. Paint grass lines to avoid size mistakes. Some people build a walkway from the hutch ( if outdoors. not in any building)to the run so it can exercise whenever it wants.
-
4On the lines, build the frame. So long areas are stand-up rectangles, and short areas look like squares.
-
5Gather the wire. Put the wire in the frames. Do not put wire on the floor. Only on walls, and ceiling. This can damage rabbit feet and cause them to dislocate the legs.

EditTips
- Put toys in the pen. This can reduce boredom.
- Put a top door to place the rabbit in if it is a stand-alone pen.
- Stand-alone means a pen without a hutch entrance.
- Modify the size for a doe and her kits. The modifying should count as the kits are at weaning age.
EditWarnings
- Rabbits like to burrow. This can lead to tunneling out of the pen and a loss of the rabbit. Put a wood floor in if you want to bunny proof.
- If it is a hutch-pen then at the back of the hutch, install wire to the ground.
