Cambodia is in IDF’s Western Pacific Region. Although Cambodia has the lowest prevalence of diabetes in the Region, some 8,000 people die due to the disease in Cambodia every year.

The Western Pacific Region, which comprises 39 countries and territories, is home to 138.2 million people with diabetes – 8.6% of the adult population.1 Over the next 20 years, the number of people affected is expected to increase to 201.8 million – 11.1% of the adult population. The world’s highest country prevalence is also in the Western Pacific Region, in the Pacific Island nation of Tokelau, where a staggering 37.5% of adults have the disease.1
