"The source is known to be stable" as specified in the original post. That's the working assumption. Perhaps no-one has write access.  Perhaps you are comparing the disk backup set to the duplicate on tape.   If the comparison fails, that would mean there is a hardware problem.  So you replace the hardware.

We have the same issue. Most backup jobs start on Friday, with some huge jobs blocking all tape drivers for more than one day. When they are done, the 24 hour timeout for many duplicate jobs has already expired, and we have to manually restart them. A possibility to modify the timeout from 24 hours to something else would be really appreciated.

As per request from the symantec engineer helping me on case Case # 07238975 I would like to request that the windows 2012 R2 operating system is supported as a vmware backuphost. We are currently at Netbackup 7.6.0.3 and we would like to use windows 2012 R2 as a media server. As a normal media server Windows 2012 R2 is supported, but not as a vmware backup host.   David

I am having the same problem.  I simply deleted a couple jobs from a Server and closed BE.  When I reopenend, jobs on all servers are gone and getting the JobView query failed error.  I ran live update and installed service pack 4 and all the available hotfixes thereafter and the error and missing jobs persist.  What can I try next?  I saw in another post where someone ...

Once Hotfixes 217591 or 218257 are installed to Backup Exec 2014, either manually or via Live update, the BkupInst2014.htm install log file will incorrectly list them as being 'Backup Exec (TM) 2012 Patch... '. This is a display issue in the install log only and will not affect the operation of Backup Exec 2014.

I have the same issue here. After removing an autoloader from backup exec due to a fault with the hardware backup exec has become unusable. It took me two hours to get past the loading data bar and its unresponsive once it has.    Waiting for a fix from symantec. All the time this is happening I am unable to rely on our backup solution.
