Step 1: Take Measurements

Measure the footprint of the workstation. That is, the distance that the feet are spread apart both front to back, and side-to-side.

Step 2: Cut the Plywood

Cut a piece of plywood slightly bigger than the footprint dimensions. Later, a piece of wood will be attached to the center of the plywood that will conform to the dimensions while also leaving room for the power strip.

Step 3: Attach Casters

Attach a caster to each corner of the plywood. Use swivel casters for mobility. They should also have a lock that can be set to keep the base steady.

Step 4: Attach a Base Skirt

Use 3/4” material to make a skirt for the base. Attach the skirt to the plywood with glue and nails.

Step 5: Finish the Base

Attach a piece of wood across the base. The wood should create a box around the footprint of the workstation. Screw the piece in; don't glue it in case the workstation changes later on.

Attach the power strip.
