If there is someone on your Hangouts contacts you do not want to hear from anymore, you can block them so they will not be able to get in touch with you. However, if you block someone from Hangouts, that person will be removed from your Google+ circles and you will not be able to see or comment on each other’s posts. To block someone on Google+ Hangouts, see step 1.

    Head to the Google+ website. Open a browser and type in plus.google.com. Hit Enter and you will be taken to the Google+ sign-in page.

    Log into your account. If you previously accessed your account on the computer you are currently using, you will be able to click your username from the list provided on-screen. Simply enter your password and hit Enter on your keyboard.
    • If you are using a different computer, just click “Sign in” at the middle of the window and enter your username and password, then hit Enter as well.

    Click the Hangouts icon. The icon is at the top-right of the screen, just below your profile picture. The Hangouts window will drop down after you click on its icon.

    Select a contact to block. Click the contact you want to block from the Hangouts window. Your Conversations window with that user will pop up.

    Access the Settings menu. Click the gear icon at the top right of the Conversations window, and the Settings menu will appear.

    Block the user. Click on “Block User” and you will be presented with a notice about blocking users. Click “Block” to totally block that particular user.
