clone stamp tool not working properly

I am having problems with my clone tool. When I take the initial clone by pressing option and clicking, it is fine, but then when I come to take another clone, it just shows 2 crosses and I have to force quite the program as it won't allow me to do anything.

Any ideas?

Try resetting the tool via the icon on the clone too's option bar.
In the later versions of the program, it is a box with lines in it on the right.
Earlier versions have an arrow, top left.

Ok. Try resetting preferences. In the later versions of PSE, go to Edit>Prefences>General

Photoshop Elements doesn't respond when you use editing tools in Mac OS X 10.10
