How to Mount a Frame for a License Plate Where No Existing Frame Exists
A lot of times when you bring a car from Missouri or something it'll only have one mount for a license plate. This will draw a lot of unwanted attention from the cops which is bad if, you know, it's stolen or something. Anyhow, here's how throw another plate on using simple tools.
EditSteps
-
1Figure out where you want your plate. Locate a good spot to put it. You're going to be drilling holes, so find an area free of wires or mechanical part. The frame will work if your tools can take it. The best place to do it is in a plastic bumper. Make sure it doesn't grind on the ground or anything.Ad
-
2Get a power drill. Drill progressively larger holes where to want your plate at. Make sure they're big enough for the bolts you're going to use and spaced with the holes in the plate.
-
3Put your plate and frame together. Put your bolts through everything and mount em with nuts to the vehicle.
-
4Take a step back and make sure it all lines up. You need this to look legit, otherwise your libel to get harassed.Ad
