How to Calm Down if You Got Embarrassed when You Sent a Message to the Wrong Talk Page on wikiHow
Have you ever felt embarrassed on wikiHow because of a message you accidentally sent to the wrong user's talk page? It can happen to anyone. Here's how to stay calm if this has happened to you.
EditSteps
-
1Think about the message. Think of which user you actually wanted to send the message to. Don't be afraid the user would say a mean thing back. Send them another message saying "I'm sorry, I meant to post this on another user's talk page."Ad
-
2Get your mind off of the problem. Think about something else instead. Go on the Community Dashboard and choose an activity to do. Do as many things as you can. This will take your mind off of the embarrassment.
-
3Log out. This might sound like all your articles, edits, etc., will be deleted, but actually, it won't. Take your mind off of it. Later, log back in. Check your profile to make sure your things are still there. It is most likely that they are still saved.
-
4If the wrong user you sent a message to leaves a message back, don't be worried. He/she might not answer. To prevent being worried again, take little peeks at the message rather than reading it all in one go.Ad
EditTips
- To prevent this from happening at all, check the top of the talk page for the person's username, and make sure he/she is the right user you want to send a message to.
- Take little peeks at the message if they did send one back to you.
