See what bad things your cat does in your house. If your cat scratches the couch or other furniture, get a scratching post for it. If your cat doesn't know how to use it, try to train it to use it. If it doesn't care about the litter box and pees inside the house, you keep them outside. Some cats are mean and harm people (scratch people) or yourself very badly. Especially if children bother them and they scratch them. Cats that don't know how to use a scratching post must also go outside. When they are outside, they will scratch on a tree instead.

Be careful when taking your cat out. If it is a really mean cat, it might scratch or bite you. It can be very painful. Instead, open its carrier. Put some treats in the carrier. Make sure your cat sees them and goes all the way in the carrier. Close the carrier's door while it is eating and take it outside with the cat. Without your cat seeing you, open the carrier and let it out. This way, you will not get hurt and your family won't either. If it is nice, just carry it outside. Some cats are not wanting to be carried. So, just do the carrier trick again. Two cats that are mean or not used to being carried must be carried one at a time. Never put two cats in the same carrier. They will not have enough room and fight about it. And they will get back pain.

Make sure that your cat doesn't get any parasites when outside. If it does, take it to the vet. After that, remember that you can not keep your cat outside all the time except if it is an outdoor cat. Keep your indoors all the time, and outdoors not much of the time.

Make sure they do their business on the grass and not the cement. Clean up after them. Check them from time to time so they won't get unhappy and to make sure they did it on the grass.

Keep your cat busy. Give it toys and give it food and water. Take your cat inside when it eats its food and drinks its water so bugs won't get in the food. It can still play outside though.
