Rising stars are new articles that are exceptionally high in quality. They are selected by New Article Boosters shortly after an article is written. See Step 1 below to learn how to select one.

    Look for new articles high in quality or that have potential to be high quality.
  3. Select a Rising Star Article on wikiHow Step 3 Version 2.jpg

    Select a Rising Star with good judgement.
    • They don't have to be at Featured Article standards.
    • They don't need good references, photos or videos.
    • They do need good instructions to accomplish a task.

    While in New Article Boost, click in the "Rising Star" box.

    Click on "Mark as Patrolled".
    • Once you do this, a message will be sent to the original author, telling them that their article has been selected as a Rising Star, and congratulating them. The article will also be added to the Rising Star feed, and marked as a Rising Star on its discussion page.
      • However, you can still a personal message to the original author, complimenting them on their article.
