1Get the supplies you need.

2Mix about 70% plaster of Paris and 30% compound onto a palette add water and mix.

3Depending on how much you're using, add the right amount of paint to match your desired color and mix into the palette. Use two or three colors and do not mix them into one color for better results. This leaves a swirly effect, almost like a wood grain.
