Steps
-
1Find out if your school has a talent show! This is the easiest way.
-
2If so, find the rap song or clip you want to sing and learn the lyrics. Make sure to rehearse it so that the day the magic happens, you have your words ready.
-
3Work up the courage to get up to the mic and rap don't sweat it. Concentrate on your music more than your audience. If you concentrate on the audience too much, you may get nervous. remember: you're there to rap, not to impress.
-
4Listen to compliments and criticism at the end of your performance. If someone insults your rapping skills, don't get sad about it, instead, use it as advice so that you can get better at it.
Tips
- Have fun and enjoy the compliments while they last!
- Work on your rap before you do it in front of your school.
- Don't overthink it. Just rap. If you get nervous, think about your "happy place"
Warnings
- Careful with your words, if you're in a public place it's best that you don't have swear words or inappropriate lyrics in the song.
- Make sure it is the right type of talent show. You wouldn't want to be all prepared to rap and find out that it's only a chemistry talent show, would you? Also, try to get to know others that will be in the show and see if you can learn anything from them.
