How to Make Mashed Potatoes With Nutmeg (Dairy Free)
Mashed potatoes taste delicious with the addition of nutmeg which gives them a subtle, spicy flavour.

- 900g, 2 pounds potatoes suitable for mashing
- Salt, to taste
- 3/4 cup of soy, rice or oat milk (even water works just fine)
- 2 to 4 tablespoons of olive oil
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Freshly grated nutmeg to taste

1Bring the potatoes to a boil in a saucepan. Add a pinch of salt to the water (optional).Ad

2Turn down the heat to a simmer. Cook until the potatoes become tender and ready to mash.

3Drain the potatoes and leave to cool. Peel once cooled.

4Mash the potatoes in a large bowl.

5Place the mashed potato back into the saucepan.

6Gently warm the milk in another saucepan.

7Gently warm the potatoes in their own saucepan. Stir them as they warm and keep the heat very low. Add the olive oil and warmed milk and stir through.

8Season the mashed potatoes. Add the salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste and stir through.
