    Go to the off/on button on your smartphone. Momentarily hold it down and your phone should turn on.

    Go to your menu/apps page.

    Depending on your phone and the apps you've already downloaded, go to an app store. Examples: Play Store, Samsung Apps, etc. or you can go to the internet.

    In the search bar, type "free calls and texting" and click enter.

    Review the possibilities. Go ahead and browse through them and pick the one you like. Download it.

    Open the app. You will be required to enter your information (name and email address) in order to set up an account and get your personal phone number.

    Enter your postal code and choose your number. That's it!

    Use the app. Most apps give you 5 -10 minutes of calling time right away. You can also purchase minutes, but better yet, earn them by watching short videos or installing apps etc. With this number you can call out, text, and even receive calls. There is one thing though: you must be connected to Wi-Fi for this app to work.
