    Find a movie that you like, and purchase the script. There are a number of websites you use, like Amazon, Softbizscripts.com, Cgiscript.net, and Scriptgeni.com

    Go through the script and find the lines. It should have a character's name in all caps, and centered above the line that they speak. A picture is on the side somewhere.

    Know how to read it. The stage direction has normal margins. It starts on the side and goes all the way across the page. This tells you who does what, and where someone is to walk, etc. etc.
    • The beginning of a scene has 3 letters telling you whether the scene is inside or out. if it is inside it starts with INT. and outside is EXT. (interior and exterior). Then it should tell you what room it is in, who is in it, and what time it is. Then below that, it explains what will happen at the beginning, so that the actors and crew know what to do.
    • At the end of acts, or scenes, it may say "End Scene 1" or "End Act 1".
