-
1Compose the music. You do not need to have a degree in music to do this, you just need a basic understanding of rhythm and beat . Most songs are first composed with one single instrument, and later in the process more layers are added by adding more instruments. Make sure you properly compose the music. That way, the lyrics will come to you in no time.Ad

2Know what you want to write about . Look back at the music you previously composed. What is the feeling of that music? Jot down in a notebook. Either a list of sad events in your life, or someone closes, or happy events depending on the feel of the song. Pick what to write about from a hat. Other emotions include anger, silliness, love, hate, etc.
-
3Form the lyrics. Understand the parts of lyrics. For example, the intro—songs have a long wordy intro that explains the setting and plot of the song before the real singing begins. The verses—the verses are basically the explanation lyrics that in each verse are different. They are filled with emotion, but are not usually remembered. The chorus—the chorus is that one part of the song that people get stuck in their heads. It is what the songs are named after; it is a very big deal.

4Turn those emotions from the past event of your choice into words. Use old pieces of dialogue that you remember and words from your diary (if you have one). Emphasize the experience if needed, but truly give it all you've got.Ad
