How to Be a Good Scary Story Teller
The next time you have a sleepover with your friends, or you are trick-or-treating on Halloween night, here is how to give your buds a good creep out! Just pick a story and tell it to them according to the following steps.
EditSteps
-
1Try not to laugh. Be very serious. It will give your guests the feeling that you are haunted or something.Ad
-
2Announce to your friends that you will tell them a very creepy tale, and then go into a dark room. Don't do the stupid thing with the flashlight; instead make it as dark as you can!
-
3Have a story made up or in your head, memorized! If you make it up as you go along, you are more likely to laugh. Start with a simple "There was..." or a "Once upon a night..."
-
4Tell your tale seriously. Do not laugh or anything. If your friend laughs, that means it isn't working, and you are doing something wrong. Do not say BOO or anything in the middle of your story, and keep your voice at the same sound level.
-
5Silently stand up when you are done telling your story, almost making no noise, and walk silently out of the darkened room.
-
6Turn off the light where you are, outside the room. If you can, go back in the original room without your guest knowing. Go behind your guest if you can, otherwise just sit next to him/her.
-
7Make sure your hands feel wet or clammy. Slowly put your hands on your guest shoulders, and then say, "Why did you take my brothers, eeiiiyyyeee?"
-
8Turn your guest around to see you. Then, after about three seconds, shout BOO! If they are not scared, you did something wrong. Try to laugh minimally if you want to do it again.
-
9If you want it to be comical, just say, "Seriously, why did you take my brothers, eeiiyyyyeee?" again, but not in a creepy voice.Ad
EditTips
- When you're done, tell your guest that you were telling the truth. Make them really scared and say that he or she haunts your house at midnight. This is a creepy trick, and it will scare people if you do it right.
