Bias as defined by Harper (1991) means “allowing a particular influence to have more importance than it really warrants.” In a qualitative research, the main aim is to provide answers without any bias. Occurrence of bias is natural but you can surely take steps to minimize them by recognizing them before only. Performing a qualitative research without any bias is important to not just maintain the self-esteem of the research participants but also to come up with accurate research results.
