Before starting to write a thesis, it is necessary for a researcher to know that it consists of mainly three sections. These sections are Prelims, Main Body, and End Matter. This article will tell you how to write a thesis.

    Write the prelims. It is instructed to write the prelims after finishing the whole thesis because in that case the student or researcher will have everything in hand like list of tables and figures if any, glossary and abbreviations in case necessary and can prepare the title page, abstract, acknowledgements, and table of contents.

    Choose the topic. Before starting to write the main body of the thesis, the student or researcher has to first choose a topic from his or her area of interest.

    Literature review: After deciding upon the topic, one has to find a gap for carrying the research work, which has to be substantiated by literature review.

    Understand the Data collection. After literature review, the researcher needs to understand the type of data required, be it primary or secondary, and the means of collecting it.

    Determine methodology. Along with data collection, the student or researcher also has to decide upon the methodology to be used for carrying out the research.
    • Results and Discussion: It comes next where the collected data, be it primary or secondary is analyzed using statistical tools like SPSS, EViews, AMOS, etc.

    Make a conclusion. The last part of the main body of the thesis is conclusions wherein the result of the study is summarized, and recommendations are also put forth if there is any, along with the loopholes of the research work, and guiding the upcoming researchers toward new topics of research on the same area.

    Have a Bibliography and references. The last section of the whole thesis constitutes of bibliography or references and appendices if required. It is recommended to start putting forth the references and names of books and papers from the very beginning while starting to write the thesis.
