1Understand what is meant by being a "headship". For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. (Ephesians 2:23-24) Headship is not a license to command, control or coerce, nor is it just satisfying sexual feelings; it is a protective covering which will "woo" his bride unto perfection through love.[1]

2Love your wife unconditionally. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; (Ephesians 2:25) Give her love without concern for receiving, and love her so much that you would die for her.[1]

3Take care of her the same way to take care of yourself. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: (Ephesians 2:28-29) Nourish her, provide for her, cherish her.[1]
