    Locate a salon. If you already have a hairdresser (which you probably do), great, you can move onto Step 3. But for those of you who don't, go around to different salons and meet different hairdressers. When you find one you like, you have found the person who is going to cut your hair.

    Make sure your hair is long enough. Hair has to be 10 inches (25.4 cm) for Locks of Love, 12 inches (30.5 cm) for Wigs for Kids.

    Put hair into ponytail. Make sure there is 1⁄2 inch (1.3 cm) of space left above the ponytail, as you will need to cut there.

    Cut the ponytail. This is it! A few snips and your hair is gone.
