How to Cut a Rabbit's Claws
Cutting a rabbit's nails is hard; this is especially true if your rabbit is being uncooperative.
EditSteps
-
1First obtain all of the supplies you will need. (Flour, animal nail clippers from a pet store, a rabbit, and a towel.)Ad
-
2Wrap your rabbit in the towel and flip it upside down. This activates a nerve on the rabbit's back, making it sleepy.
-
3Clip the rabbit's nails with the nail clippers. Do so just as you would cut a human's nails, minding the different shape.Ad

EditTips
- If you cut a nail too short, it may start bleeding. Put some pressure and flour on it. It will stop bleeding soon; take a deep breath and stay calm. Your rabbit will be scared, and will be even more scared if you are not calm.
- Make sure you don't cut the quick... that is why they bleed.
EditWarnings
- If your rabbit gets too scared, make sure you give it a break. You would not want it to get sick.
