How to Be Ready for Your First Period
First periods are always a surprise. So , if you don't have yours this might help you prepare for when that special day comes.
Steps
-
1Know about female anatomy. You ought to know as much as possible about yourself .Ad
-
2Be ready with feminine products such as pads, tampons, and\or menstrual cups.
-
3Get enough feminine products. Pads are long strips of fabric that stick to your underwear. Some have wings that wrap around the bottom of the underwear. After about 3 or 4 hours you should change to a clean fresh pad .Failing to do so may lead to building up of infections. The downside to a pad is that they are not the best to swim in. Most women prefer not to because of this. Since the material is absorbent it absorbs the water quickly and becomes puffy and that shows.
-
4Try using tampons. Tampons are cotton sticks that have an applicator on them and they go inside you. Ask your mom or a female relative to help you understand this. It is bad to wear a tampon more than six hours or you can get TSS ( Toxic Shock Syndrome ) which is extremely harmful. But the good thing about a tampon is that you can swim with them in.
-
5Get familiar with menstrual cups. They also go inside you. They are made of medical grade silicone so they are safe and cannot give you TSS. You can swim with them and do everything you want except having sexual intercourse. You can use soft cups for that. You can remove the cup after 12 hours.
-
6Keep in mind that you might get cramps. So ask your doctor about medicine to relieve pain.Ad
